Rally Point removes the Gas Circle and keeps Resurgence open. This first-session plan helps returning players learn Zodiac without mistaking the mode for standard Battle Royale.
How should a beginner start Rally Point?
Use the first Rally Point session to learn one part of Zodiac and one Warzone system at a time. Raven Software describes the mode as a 20-player space with no Gas Circle, unlimited Resurgence and the ability to drop in or out. You can complete Contracts, fight hostile soldiers, face other players and build Cash without a shrinking safe zone forcing a rapid rotation. That makes it a useful learning environment, although it is still an active match rather than a private tutorial.
We have reviewed Raven's Season 1 patch notes and Activision's official mode overview. We have not logged a verified hands-on playtest. The sequence below is an editorial practice plan derived from published rules, not a claim that we discovered a secret optimal route. Start by picking a familiar landmark, follow one contract or combat opportunity, and return to a Neutral Ground to change your equipment or collect a payout. This creates a loop you can repeat while learning the map's vertical layers.
Rally Point is different from Battle Royale and standard Resurgence in two important ways: there is no Gas Circle, and you can keep returning. Those rules reduce the cost of a mistake, but they also make time a resource you have to manage yourself. Give a session one specific goal, such as learning the Trackline exits or testing the Grabber Drone, instead of wandering until the match feels aimless.
- Choose one Zodiac area to learn before moving across the whole map.
- Complete a Contract or fight hostile soldiers to build a Cash reserve.
- Use Neutral Grounds to adjust your loadout, collect Cash or redeploy.
- Repeat with one new route or tool; unlimited Resurgence makes retries possible.
Learn Zodiac by its layers, not only its POI names
Zodiac is a drone manufacturing complex with ten points of interest. Activision highlights factory interiors, research facilities, rooftops, underground passages and moving trains. For a new player, the simplest map exercise is to trace a route across two layers: enter at ground level, find a roof or tunnel connection, then identify a way back. That practice should make later Resurgence callouts more precise than simply shouting a broad location name.
Trackline's double railway is a useful reference point because trains can move across the facility. The official notes say Raven reduced train spawn rates by about 25% after beta and adjusted loot inside them. That makes the train a potential prize, not a reliable starting plan for every drop. A beginner may gain more by learning how to reach or avoid the tracks than by chasing every train on sight. We cannot name a safest entrance without match evidence.
The map also contains interactive objects such as moveable cover and explosive fuel barrels. Use a low-pressure Rally Point run to notice where an X-marked object can block a path or provide cover. Be careful with any fuel barrel near your squad. The official patch notes confirm these objects and their uses, but they do not say every object spawns at one fixed coordinate each match. Learn the kind of opportunity to look for rather than memorizing an unverified location.
Neutral Grounds are a reset point for your plan
Raven calls Neutral Grounds designated ceasefire zones. Four station types matter there: Loadout Stations change your equipment, Redeploy Stations move you to another map location, Payout Stations pay Cash based on your current high score, and Squad Formation lets players join others during a match, up to four in a squad. This is more than a place to stand still. It is where a player can turn a messy first attempt into a better-equipped second one.
We suggest a simple reset routine: pause to check your Cash, decide whether the current loadout fits the next objective, and choose a redeploy destination for a reason. If you want to learn a new sector, move closer to it. If you want to practice a familiar fight, keep your equipment consistent so you can tell whether your route or your aim needs work. The official notes do not provide station prices or cooldowns for every action, so inspect the live interface before planning around a specific number.
Squad Formation also changes the social dynamic. A solo player can seek help mid-match, but joining people does not automatically create coordination. Agree on one goal, such as a Contract or a high-score push, before leaving the ceasefire zone. That suggestion is based on how the mode allows teams to form, not an assertion that strangers will cooperate. A focused plan makes the next few minutes easier to evaluate.
- Loadout Station: change your equipped loadout.
- Redeploy Station: immediately move to another location.
- Payout Station: receive Cash tied to your current high score.
- Squad Formation: join other players, with squads capped at four.
Build Cash through useful objectives before chasing the Nuke
Rally Point lets players complete Contracts, fight hostile soldiers and earn Kill Rewards that grow into more valuable Supply Caches. Special events can include hostile choppers, bombing drones, JLTV deliveries and elite reinforcements. These activities give beginners several ways to build Cash and equipment. The right first objective is the one your current squad can finish while learning a route, not necessarily the loudest event on the map.
Raven says one Nuke can be purchased at a Buy Station in each match, first come, first served. That rule creates a competitive Cash race even in a mode without a shrinking circle. We would treat the Nuke as an advanced team goal. Learn how quickly your squad earns Cash, which objectives are repeatable and how often other teams contest valuable areas before centering an entire session on it. The official patch notes do not provide the Nuke's price, so any exact farming route or time estimate would be guesswork.
The Aerial Scanner is a Rally Point-only Killstreak that reveals enemy positions through walls within an area. It can help a squad choose whether to engage or avoid a contested objective, but Raven does not state it grants permanent vision or covers the whole map. Use it as a moment of information, not a guarantee that a route will remain clear. That distinction matters when hostile soldiers and human opponents can both interrupt an otherwise profitable loop.
- Contracts and hostile soldiers provide objectives and income opportunities.
- Kill Rewards unlock Supply Caches with increasingly valuable loot.
- Special events create extra opportunities and risks.
- Only one purchasable Nuke exists in a match.
Practice one new tool at a time
Season 1 adds a Zipline Launcher that can create vertical or horizontal lines. The line remains active until destroyed, and enemies can use it too. The Grabber Drone can move loot, environmental objects and downed teammates, but has limited battery. Rally Point's unlimited returns make it a good place to observe how those tools affect a route before relying on them in a tense Resurgence final circle. We are proposing a practice method, not reporting tested win rates.
Start with a zipline between two points you can already reach by foot. Notice where its entrance and exit leave you exposed, then ask whether an enemy could follow the same line. For the drone, test a low-risk retrieval before sending it after a teammate in a fight. Observe how far it can travel and when the battery becomes limiting in the live build. Activision describes the capabilities, but final handling and player reactions require actual play.
The same one-variable approach applies to weapons. Change only one loadout element at a Neutral Ground, then repeat a similar objective. If you change weapon, Perk, route and squad all at once, it becomes harder to learn which choice helped. That small discipline adds value beyond a feature list: it turns a forgiving mode into a practical training loop.
What Rally Point can teach, and what it cannot
Rally Point's unusual value is that it separates learning from elimination pressure. You can explore Zodiac, test routes and keep returning while still encountering real opponents. That should help a returning player understand the Season 1 equipment faster than a single Battle Royale drop. It may also make experimenting with unusual squads or tools more inviting. This is our inference from the official rule set, not evidence of a measured improvement in player performance.
The limitation is equally important. No Gas Circle means you do not practice late-match rotations under the same pressure as Battle Royale. Unlimited Resurgence changes how costly a bad push feels. Neutral Grounds give an extra reset option that standard modes may not offer. A strategy that feels safe in Rally Point should therefore be tested again in its intended playlist before calling it a competitive meta pick.
Raven lists one exclusive Weapon Blueprint and two Weapon Camos among Rally Point rewards, but the patch notes do not give a detailed unlock path for each. Check the live Events or Challenges interface for current requirements. The best first-session result is not necessarily a cosmetic: it is knowing one reliable route, one productive objective and one way to recover when a plan fails. These are reader practice steps; this article does not claim a first-hand match report.
